During the last four years the quest for cannon has increasingly
involved underwater and diving work. Initial experience was gained
by working with diving support vessel “Discovery” in Philippine
waters. This involved marine survey and recovery work. More recent
experience has been gained on the ship “Indies Explorer”, a diving
and survey vessel working in the South China Sea. I remain historic
ordnance adviser to this project. Last year I was involved with
SubSea Resources and the ship “John Lethbridge” advising on medical
facilities.

Through involvement with the Ordnance Society I am in contact with
many of the British experts in the field of cannon. This would also
included a working relationship with the main British dealers who
are prepared to handle and sell cannon. I have recently visited
the conservation department of the Shipwreck Museum, Perth, Western
Australia.
